The beauty of life lies in its diversity; as does the beauty of wine. At a very young age I realized that, due to my immense love for reading, I would develop into a polymath. As far back as I can remember, I’ve always had a yearning to more and more knowledge, reading up about a buffet of subjects.
This has benefitted me greatly in my career, considering that I get thrown into various social platforms, needing to converse with complete strangers. Not necessarily being a master in the topic, but at least know enough to hold a conversation…
Because of this wide range of interests, I soon realized that boredom sets in once I get to the threshold between ‘nice to know’ and ‘unnecessary to know’.
And that is where I met the world of wine! A plethora of information awaited me, without an inkling of boredom. Every year there’s a new vintage, ongoing advances in technological influence in wine production, new wineries… It’s a virtually never-ending journey, as it’s impossible to know everything, taste everything or experience everything.
I have been in the wine industry for a number of years and consider myself very privileged, as I do not have a job – I rather get remunerated for practicing my hobby full-time.
This website is intended as a journey through wine. A glimpse, if you will, into how the people inside the industry, experience the industry.
